This is a role that has previously been “automatically” assigned to captain’s parents (even if captain’s parents didn’t have the time or passion for it). Team parents help to organize the “extras” around a team for the season, things like: streamlining communication among coaches, players, and parents; organizing other parent volunteers, including those for team dinners, senior day celebrations, end-of-season banquet, game support, etc. – all the off-field things that help make a terrific season and program. Captain’s parents are more than welcome to be team parents (but not required). Typically, between 1-3 parents serve in this role in any given season. Coaches will be looking for volunteers right around the start of each season.
