Coach Joe Breen to Take Feehan Baseball Helm

ATTLEBORO - Bishop Feehan Athletic Director Christian Schatz is proud to announce the hiring of Coach Joe Breen as the next manager of the Feehan baseball program. Widely known in regional baseball circles with a track-record of consistent success for his teams and players, Coach Breen succeeds long-time Feehan coach, Eric Everton, who stepped down this past June.

Coach Breen is a baseball lifer with almost 20 years of coaching experience.  Joe was a three sport captain in football, basketball, and baseball at Swampscott High School before earning his degree from Stonehill College, where he captained the baseball team.

Coach Breen has served as the Director of Baseball Operations at RBI Baseball Academy in Foxboro, MA since 2006 and is the lead Director for GBG Northeast, a regional powerhouse in club baseball, featuring 30+ teams from ages 9–18 and dozens of players moving on to play college baseball each year.

From 2015–2019, Joe served as the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Mansfield High School where his teams posted a record of 77-37 (.675 W%).  In his first season, the Hornets reached the D1 South championship game posting a 17-6 record.  In his last two seasons, the teams posted an impressive 37 wins and appeared in the Massachusetts D1A “Super 8” State Tournament each of those years featuring the top 8 teams in the state voted on by a committee.  The Hornets were also two-time Hockomock League Champions.

In 2015, Joe was named Boston Herald Division 1 South Coach of the Year as well as Hockomocksports.com Coach of the Year.

Coach Breen has also presented on stage at the Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Association Coaches Convention as well as the National High School Baseball Coaches Convention in Columbus, Ohio.

"We had unprecedented interest in our head coaching job and a host of really strong candidates for the position," says Schatz. "It's a testament to the program that Coach Everton helped build, the great kids and families in our program and the exciting investments we've made in recent years in the baseball program (completely rebuilt Beach Field) and Feehan athletics overall. And Coach Breen stood out as a perfect option for Feehan. He is the right coach at the right time for the right program."

"The Bishop Feehan community is something special, and we are going to make that community very proud. I look forward to building a championship level program which will make our community and alumni proud. Win Now. Win Forever. Go Shamrocks," said Breen."I know some of the kids and families already, and I can't wait to get to know everyone. We are going to play together, play hard and smart and play with pride."

Joe currently lives in Lowell, MA with his wife Bridget, daughters Emme and Shea, son Tedy, and dog Briggs.
